Cat back Exhausts

Hey there,
this is actually my first post in a Auto Forum! Don't ask what my other hobby is....lol
I need some advice for a catback I want to put on my 2000 SE(ex) civic! D17Y8 ??I think is the engine code....1.6L 106 HP.
Anybody have good advice?? Or good advice on bad choices???
I will eventually supercharge her and turn her into a sleeper if I can resist the temptation to doo her up!
Thanks
B

I've got the Apex-i World Sport catback on my EL. I have no complaints and would recommend it. It is nice and quiet in normal city driving (almost sounds stock), but has a nice growl when you really get on the gas. The price was also slightly less than most other catback systems I was also considering.

Same question from both of you, so I guess so.

As far as power gains go, I haven't dynoed the car, but you can definitely feel a gain in power (although not a huge gain) from mid range and up.

Sounds like a winner...I really want to try to make it look stock...but like the name implies "sleepr", so quiet with power is a good thing! Easy enough to do yourself???????

If you are able to get under your car easily (ie. access to a lift, etc.) and the bolts aren't really badly rusted on, you should be able to do a catback exhaust yourself.

Unfortunately the Apex-i WS exhaust doesn't look stock as the muffler itself is stainless steel with about a 4 inch tip, but at least it look pretty.

Yeah, well....sacrifices...............!!!!
lol
I guess if you want more power, then stock is not the way to go!
Yeah, I should buy some jack stands and see if I can do it myself!
otherwise, maybe visit the backyard mechanic to do it! There shouldn't be anything too complicated for him to screw up is there??

SE uses the D16Y7 engine, non-VTEC, just thought I'd correct that.
