Car wont start... Question.
Hey guys, How is it going.....
My car wont start and I am not 100% why it wont start... I have some idea but not sure.
When I am turning it over, it firing but it sounds like not enough gas is getting to the engine...Sometimes it starts but then it dies off.
The thing is I am not low on gas (lol if someone is thinking that) and sometimes it starts perfectly fine...
What should I be looking at here? I think I know but I dont want to go and buy the wrong thing and it be wrong. Rather have someone tell me that knows that they are doing lol...
Thanks dudes

why would you check the main relay first?
First check if you get strong spark and fuel.
If you dont get fuel, check your pump and relay
if you arent getting spark, make sure there is no moisture in the cap and your plugs arent fouled. There are other checks that oyu can do for the coil and icm, but ill get into that if all the other checks are fine.

well make sure.
Usually a quick smell of the crankcase will indicate if your getting fuel or not.
Or just crack a fuel line on your filter or rail and see if fuel drips out. Like i said.. just crack it.. no need to fully un-thread it. Unforunately there are no test-ports on our cars, so thats real way to find out if your getting fuel without speciality test equipment.
If you arent getting fuel, like braun said, check the main relay first. If thats fine, check the connection to the pump. If that clears, its the pump. Or you could try to jump voltage to the pump, see if it does anything, but thats a bit of a pain and un-necessary

It's a known defect in honda Main relays.. The solder joints expand with heat and crack losing contact.
I've had this happen to several of the civics I had.
No need to replace them either.. Just pop the cover off and solder the joints a bit re-newing the contact.
