car wont start
at 1st it seemed like something was draining the battery. i think it was the crappy alarm. the last time i started it i had to giv it some gas while turning the key. the next day the battery was dead, just enuff power too turn the radio on. i tried to boost it but the engine wont crank. now the car has power. the windows, door locks and radio works. but if i turn the key i just here one click and no reaction. do i need a new starter??
i juss got the car so i dont know how old the battery is or anything like that

test the battery with the car on.. rev it a bit..
if it's around 14 volts then alternator should be fine.. If it's down around 12, then the alternator is probably near death!
Ensure you got good grounds for the battery and alternator before concluding the alternator is dead..
For sure your battery is dead too.. the one click starter tells you it doesn't have enough power to turn over.

So you got a boost on the battery and it still won't start?
Try another battery and check again..
If it doesn't start then, make sure you got the ground on properly. To the battery, the car, the alternator,etc.. When you got the boost on the battery, do the lights work? fuel pump prime, etc?

i got a new battery, and no luck. i turn the key and nothing happens. maybe ill get someone to turn the key while i listen under the hood to see if i can hear any clicking
do u think it might be the starter?
if it was the alernator wudnt the car start and then die?

It's not the alternator causing this problem.
Check the main fuses under the hood..
Make sure the connection to the starter from the battery is on properly.. check all the grounds.. The battery, engine, etc..
If that fails, take the starter off and connect it directly to a power source. If that works, then I think probably something in the ignition switch is messed up.

battery, grounding, alternator, ignitor, ignitor coil, starter, fuel, many possibilities.... bring it to a shop if you don't have time to inspect it... that shall save you a lot of time... time=money anyways...

Sounds very much like a bad ground. Run power directly from the positive battery post to the starter. If it doesn't start, it's a ground. Remove the tranny ground, grind and clean the mating surfaces and start it up.

I know what ya meaan... direct connection to bypass ignition switch, etc..
And make sure you got the car in neutral with handbrake up.. or you'll run yourself over..

There's 2 connectors in the starter.. ones the power wire, the other is the ignition switch.. like a remote wire for amps.
TOUCHHH IT!!!
