Car won't start?
 

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum so I don't know if this is the right section to post in but hopefully it is.

So onto the problem. I recently came back from a week away with some friends and left my 01 civic si at home and when I came back and tried to start it no lights came showed up on my cluster. I thought it was the battery that was dead, maybe I left a light on or something? So I tried boosting it. Oddly enough, when I put the key in the ignition same thing happened. So I went to check the connections and my friend accidentally mixed the wires. So he hooked up the + and - on mine correctly but on his car he put the + where the - should have been and vise versa. When we corrected the problem the same thing happened, no lights on my cluster or anything. I'm kinda stuck. I don't know whether or not I should replace the battery, since it's a bit old, or did I blow a fuse? Any help would be good guys. Thanks :)

change battery and/or check fuses

you prob fried that battery when you hooked up the connections opposite to what they should be, your lucky the battery didnt blow up, Depending on how long you left it hooked up the wrong way you could have sulfated all the lead plates in the battery wich causes irreparable damage, even after hooking the battery back up the correct way, it will most likely not hold a charge. It should not have blown a fuse but never hurts to check.

It turns out it was only the fuse that was gone. I ended up changing it and jumping the car again and everything went fine. The battery still holds a charge really well. Turns out that someone left my light on after they used the car -.-. Either way it was an easy fix, $5 fuse. Thanks for the input guys!

Nice to know you were able to solve the issue...and rather inexpensively, as well. :smile:
