Car start up this morning

Took me 15 mins to get my car to fire up this morning. I had to press the gas a little bit just to get the engine going.

And then when i let my car sit for 15 minutes the heat still blowing cold air, as i went down the street my temp gauge was reading all the way hot. What the hell could that mean.

car is 92 integra with b20/vtec.

it could mean a lot of things.
To me, it would mean its time to take the car to a mechaic.

But you could have a blown headgasket, the thermostat could be gone, the battery could be dying, etc etc.

that wouldn't explain why your temperature gauge went all of the way up. Just b/c the headgasket is new doesn't mean its not pooched, if you drive with the temperature gauge all the way on "H" it won't take long to destroy a headgasket and warp the head.

well thats not something i would wanna place a bet on.
I've never heard of the thermostat being frozen, but usually when they fail they stick open/closed. They're cheap, get a new one, and some fresh coolant and change it out, its simple. Just make sure to let your coolant burp for a good 20 minutes or so with the heat and fan on full (2 fan cycles is what honda recommends i believe).

isnt it possible that hes low on coolant or his water pump isn't working well? that would hinder the hot coolant from going to the heater core either way =p?

then maybe the coolant temperature senor on the side of the engine is messed up, or not connected properly.
I'd still investigate the thermostat though.
Let the car run for a while and see if the lower rad hose gets hot. It not, then your thermostat is prolly messed up and not letting coolant flow past it. But that shouldn't effect the temperature of the air coming out from your vents, b/c the coolant hoses that go to the heater core are before the thermostat, so it doesn't matter if the t-stat is open or closed, there will still be coolant in the lines going to the heater core.
I'd check the little valve on the heater core feed hose, this is what controls the temperature of the air blowing from your vents and is directly connected (by a cable) to the temperature slider found on your console. So maybe the cable fell off the end on the heater core hose, check it out, who knows.

I think your thermostat is gone. I had same problem last yr. Changed my thermostat and it was fixed.

This yr I just went ahead and changed everything:

Mugen Thermostat
Mugen Fan Switch etc...

mugen fan switch?!?!?!? wtf? People actually pay for that ****.
If you want better control over the fan coming on/off wire it up to a switch, or wire it up so that it comes on as soon as you start the car (super simple to do, cut the plug for the fan switch off and wire the two wires together, bam, the fan will come on as soon as the car as power.

Just go buy a $30 t-stat from honda and be done with it. You could even go buy a $10 t-stat from crappy tire or parts source, but i've seen a bunch of those ones be garbage right from the get go, this is why i suggest one from honda.

if he JUST started it, and it was blowing cold air, do you really think its the thermostat. if it were stuck shut, and overheating, he would have hot air from the vents. I'd just write it off as extreme cold, and wait a day and see if it's the same deal when it warms up a tad. What mix of coolant is in the car. If it's more water and froze up that wouldnt be the greatest.

its a mixture of water and coolent. it could be possible that it froze i never opened the cap and the motor was super cool even after being on for 20-25min.

i think ima put the car in the garage with a heater and see what happens from their.

That about sums it up. I wouldn't worry about the tstat just yet. A pooched coolant temp sensor would give you trouble starting cold like you said it did.

Have you done a coolant flush recently?
