car is stalling
my 88 automatic accord is stalling while making slow turns or coming to a stop. It's like I'm running out of gas but not. Can I assume that it's the alternator? I've even set the idle higher than before. I know it's too general but anyone have insight?

I doubt it's the alternator.. If it dies the power is pulled from the battery..
Does it idle at all, like start the car and just idle? or the second the rpms get lower it stalls?
Does the car run fine when it's cold?
I'm assuming it's Carb, not Fuel Injected right? Autochoke?

88 should be fuel injected. it's not the alternator... what makes you think that? is there power steering? if you turn the headlights on, does it idle higher? car that old, it's really hard to say. could be anything from a fuel pump going bad, to fuel filter clogged, to vacuum leak, to bad ignition... too many possible culprits. does it start right up after it dies?
I almost wanna say vacuum leak... but it's really hard to say.

yeah it is 88 EX carbed. Sorry for not being specific B.
It starts up fine, runs fine. But occasionally it starts dying out when making slow turns and especially pairing that with some moderate braking.
No the car doesn't die out when idling. Only after the problem begins it won't idle and just die. So I two foot it all the way home(meaning I touch the brake with left foot to change gears(P->D) while revving it to prevent stalling)
It's happened in cold and warm weather.
The car has 175XXXkm
Headlights don't affect idle. Pwr steering is working
Just had timing and water pump done. But this happened before and after that was done.
Cleaned the carb and replaced the air filter element.
Adjusted the idle screw to rev jus a touch higher
Idles 2500 cold start. Idles at 900 after warming up.
leaking oil(2-3 drops a day)
I'm gonna get the battery checked at CDN tire.
I'm going to change fuel filter this weekend.
Thank you guys for helping me out.
PS My civic is still running excellent 253XXXkm HAHAHAH
I'll update.

i had to do the 2 feet driving all the time, so it wouldn't stall in the middle of a busy street. maybe thats why left foot braking wasn't hard for me to learn
