Car shutting off?!?

hey Guys, i need some expertise advise here. My car's acting weird. Sometimes when i have to come to a sudden stop (catching an unavoidable red light), the car actually stalls, mind you i do have my foot on the clutch, or even if it's in neutral, it will still shut off. I just changed my fuel pump, and my fuel filter. What could it be? I alos notice the car sometimes idles precariously low..... could that be it? HELP!

if it was that big.. you would probably hear the vac. leak when you shut off the car.

yes.. do a tune-up and tell us if it's fixed. You should always do a tune-up, water pump, t-belt, clutch, etc. when purchasing a strange engine.

did you do a tune up or change your timing belt and water pump when you got your "strange" engine from teknotik Chris?

Yes my timing blet and water pump are fine but i haven't done a tune-up. Guess i should, huh? Just to confirm though, a tune-up consists of changing what exactly? And what's the estimate $$$?

a tune up would be changing your spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, fuel filter, air filter, pcv valve and an oil change.
Depending on what kind of parts you use it could cost anywhere between $100-200. I know for honda parts you'd be looking at about $200...prolly a little more.

Sometimes when i start the car, it bogs then shuts off. I know you're supposed to hear a whine when you first turn the ignition two clicks indicating the fuel pump is working, but it doesn't happen all the time. I just changed the fuel filter and fuel pump, so i'm thinking it could be the fuel pump relay??

what you think zeeman? or anyone else?

its quite possible that its the main relay....eg's are notorious for having main relays that act funky in warmer weather.
