car not starting...
 

0k i just got my hands on a 92 civic dx hatch... its been sitting in this dudes garage for about a year... when he went to go start it... it didnt.... so he was gonna throw it out and i told him id take it... :D .....

anyways does anyone know what it could be.... the car was fine before ... then it just sat there for a year and then it didn't work anymore....

anyways if anyone knows... let me know... thanx

i would guess the battery prolly died during storage for that long.

battery, and perhaps a tune-up... all fluid change, make sure the distributor is good, spark plugs, wires......

Check the alternator too, what does it do when you try to start it? do any of the lights or anything work?

well first thing i thought was battery too... but it wasn't the battery... when i turn the key the car sounds like it wants to start tbut doesnt.... my uncles gonna come by hopefully some day soon and take a look at it..

wants to start means...? Is it cranking??

Or does it just make a click sound? Click sound means battery generally, or just lack of battery power to get it going.

If cranking you need to check, Fuel/Spark/Timing.

I would say in that order too.. Easiest to hardest(time consuming).
