cant break crank pulley nut loose
 

cant get the bolt to get the crank pull off loose, tried my impact gun, 2 of my good snap on ratchets with a breaker bar (broke both my ratchets) even tried hitting it with my air chizel a few times to maybe loosen it up to no avail.....? i have a chain ratchet around the outside of the pulley to keep it from moving when im doing this instead of jamming the flywheel, could i be doing somethin wrong? the motors out of the car and i need to change the timing belt and head. Theres noway this can be done with that pulley on is there?

Jam the ratchet/breaker bar you put this crank pulley holder tool on against the lower control arm, so it holds the crank still.
Then get like literally 20+ inches of extension so that you can clear the fender well. I find it helps (a lot) to put the jack under the extension (in the middle to support it) , so when you crank on the breaker bar it will keep the socket on the crank pulley bolt, and let you get good leverage on the bar.
You will need a 18" breaker bar (1/2" drive) and a bigger bar to put on top of the breaker bar to get more torque on it.
I've used this method a million times, with the car on jackstands out in my driveway.
I think a picture (in this case) would really be worth a million words.

zeeman my motors out of the car with the tranny off of it, sorry i should have mentioned that in my post.. the tool i have around the crank pulley now is keepin gthe crank nice and snug, its like a pair of vise grips but with a chain around it, i have those holding the crank pulley from moving while i try and crack the nut off.
i got one of these around the crank pulley wedged on the motor mount to keep the crank from moving, its working fine

i got a breaker bar and a piece of exhaust pipe, worked wonders

i just wanna take the belt off to remove my head and switch it, i wonder if i can do this without removing the crank pulleys somehow?

either cut the belt or just go to crappy tire and pic up the yellow blow torches they are cheap and work great and there is also a spray we use at the shop made by Castle its called Thrust WOKRS AMAZING!

yeah im thinking i might have to do that, i guess my husky 26 gallon doesnt got enoughif it wasnt for this stupid pulley i would of had my motor in by now.

This is a little different method though. This is for when the engine is out of the car (like in coreyhayman's case).
You still need the crank pulley holder tool, b/c it allows you to jam a ratchet against the ground and have both hands free to crank on the breaker bar on the crank pulley bolt.
So what you do is, put the CPT (crank pulley tool) on a 1/2 drive ratchet/breaker bar (not torque wrench....right mike...shhh) and put the CPT on the crank pulley with the ratchet facing up (12 o'clock). Then rotate the ratchet counter-clockwise until its resting up against the ground. Then take you're breaker bar with big extension on it and put that on the crank pulley bolt at 12 o'clock. Have someone stand on the engine to hold it from moving when you crank on the bolt. Lean on the breaker bar/extension bar until that sucker comes loose. Be careful not to fall on your face one it does break loose.
You can get creative with how you hold the engine still. I've put it under a car on jackstands to hold it still before.
