Hi,
I know this is a noob question but i just want to make sure b4 purchasing any rims. Can 17" fit on a 93 Coupe Civic if not do i need to modify anything like fender or etc..?

If you do the right tire upsize to the 17's there is no reason that it shouldn't fit any different that stock.
Like if I'm not mistaken for my car (92 civic Si Hatchback) for 17's I should go 205/40/17.
Overall tire Diameter should be no different than stock just a bit wider.

Isnt it gonna hit my fender when i turn cuz its too big? Well..dats wat my friend told me cuz he use 2 have a civic hatch n bought a 17" rims n its too big n it hits his fender when turning..hmm..

depends on how if its lowered or not. i'd say get 16's...i have 17s w/ 40 series tires on my 96 and they rub sometimes. i think it will depend on what your stock wheel/tire size is

yea if its on a stock suspension it wont rub the fender only if the car is lowered more than 2.3" i think or sumthin like that it might rub

i saw a guy yesterday with 18 inch 2004 TL rims (with type r suspension) in a 1994 hatch...he was lowered so the fender was at the lip of the rim and he didnt seem like he rubed badly.

i used to have 17's with 205/40/17

it was lowered with cheap coilovers on stock struts. It was a pretty decent drop and it never rubbed even with the steering wheel turned all the way. And barely ever rubbed when hitting bumps, unless it was a pretty heafty bump.

And this is with a 1.7" drop on tokico illumina's a tokico springs....again never ever rubbed.
So i would say 17's fit on a civic without any modification, unless you go with a 3" drop, then u might have to roll the fenders.

i just bought a rim with 205/45/16 n they dont rub..my only problem is that i need new tires. If I go higher than 45 like 60 would it still matter?

YES IT WOULD MATTER...Find out what your stock tire / rim sizes are. If you increase the OVERALL DIAMETER of your tire your speedometer and you mileage will not be the same (this is because it was calibrated from the factory to match your original tire diameter). It can be adjusted to suit your new wheels and tires, but then when you go to throw on stock steelies and winter tires it will be wrong again...

So a 60 series tire on your 17 inch rims will have a much greater diameter and circumference than your 17 inch rims with a 45 series tire. What you need to do is find out what your original stock tire/rim combo was and try to match that diameter/circumference with a very low profile tire on your 17 inch rims.

I know that my car (96 Civic) came with 65 series tires on 14" rims. So when I put 17's on my car I used a 40 series tire. The diameter is almost exactly the same, but the width is larger (205 as opposed to 185) so it rubs a bit sometimes.

Your car is a 93 and I don't know what your original tire/rim combo was so you 'll have to find that out before you buy new tires.

45 series is too big for 17s on your car...I can tell you that much. I think you will need a 4o or maybe even 35 (enjoy the ride) to make the diameter the same as stock.

17's are useless to me unless I had to have them because of big brakes. What else is the point of such a big wheel on a civic?

true...true...but they increase a bit of speed because of the diameter..lol..
My stock wheels came with 185/65/14 (thats what i got from the s2pid dealer). How do i know if a 195/50/16 tires will fit on my 16" rims?

uhh...bigger tires DECREASE the speed...not increase.
