Camshaft?

Anyone done anything with their camshafts, like custome profile or swap with the performance versions? Any good brands? Crane, Toda, Etc...

Anything bad about going with camshafts?

I think he's asking a general question... like have you found a big improvement...

In terms of japanese-designed engines, you can find a little bit of power when combined with a P&P job. Most off the shelf ones are more of a high RPM range units, and custom grind ones are pretty tough to guess at, ya know? A lot of testing is required. TODA if anything for your particular engine, but again that's a high rpm cam. Talk to b16civic to see what he can do for you in terms of a regrind... he may be able to do something for you.

SW20 MR2: Thinking of two motor right now, civic SOHC and Echo's DOHC...

bbarbulo: Good to hear from you again, I don't know B16civic, I would like a PM or post if you are out there. So, Camshaft would do nothing? That's a let down... I saw on Horse Power TV or something like that. A civic with a GSR with Camshaft don't know the brand, that made 170+whp. So, that is what I was thinking.

Thanks

Yeah, clucth, shifter, intake. They made that swap seem so easy, it took them 30 min

They said the camshaft was compat. with their ECU and stock setup. I thought that was great.

For SOHC, there's not really much out there. I think the Zex ones (made by Crane) are supposed to be pretty good. For DOHC, Toda, Jun, and Skunk2 are the most common (as well as CTR and ITR cams).

Zex, isn't that for Nos? I have emailed Crane cams, but have not received anything back. I hate customer services like that.

Just to clarify, Zex is a division of Comp Cams. They make nitrous kits as well as cams and flywheels. Crane is a completely separate company and also makes SOHC and DOHC cams.
