Camber kit front or back
 

Hey I no this has probaly been covered a hundred times but here it goes. I'm dropping in a set of springs and shocks tommorow giving my EG a 2.5 " drop. Here's the question, what camber kit should I get? Front or rear or both? Someone told me that I should just get the back and that the front was useless and to just get an alignment after everything was installed. Any feed back would be appreciated. Thank's.

ya thats true. im dropping my ride and all m research basically says camber only he rear and you'll be fine. SPC and ingal make good kits.

i got a similar question but only concerns a drop wit spring, are cambers necessary? (tein springs on ek, no shock replacments)

You will definetly want to put some aftermarket shocks on that set up

Get alignment done first, set toes to spec.

Get rear first, usually the weight in the front wont change the front camber to far out. Althought the rear will need one. Then a alighnment afterwards to fix camber and toe if needed.

an alignment can't do anything for you unless you have a camber kit. all the alignment can do is fix toe, which shouldn't change anyways when doing just a spring swap.

no matter what, if you go lower than 1.5 inches, your camber WILL be out of spec. whether you can tolerate it being outta spec, that's up to you. I couldn't, I have a camber kit front and back, and I'm only lowered maybe 1.75 inches or so.

Thank's car just got dropped off this morning and there throwing in the new suspension and I just ordered a rear camber kit. I'm still going to order a front camber kit next week.

agreed. i'm running the Skunk2 fronts and using shims in the rear. car is dropped almost 2" all around and i recently got another alignment after changing my tierod.

Also front camber kits are more importants and they usually come with free rear shims

The moment you remove dampers, there is a chance of toe being out of spec.

OEM does have a limit on camber from factory, you can always get an alignment first, see the spec sheet then decide whether the camber is tolerable or not.

see I disagree about toe being out of spec when you remove dampeners only. the steering knuckle is not disturbed, therefore the alignment can't be off when talking about a 89-00 Civic suspension. only when you remove control arms right off the vehicle, then the alignment can be proper fuct.

that is not to say, however, that an alignment every 2-3 years isn't in order. I absolutely think it's essential to have an alignment every few years.

I was referring to mostly the rear setup. But I would review the spec sheet first before I purchase any camber kits.
