Camber Kit
i knew i had camber issues but i looked at my tires today and didn't know they were this bad
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...3/DSC01102.jpg so i bought a camber kit yesterday and am going to put it on.. it doesn't replace the control arm but it goes inbetween but it has an adjustable balljoint.. its made by eibach but ye... it says that i need special tools to take off the old ball joint ..d oesn't say what but specialty tool needed now before i start working on it.. do i acutally need it and what is it and can i do with out it? thanks Dan |
Before you do that, what is your toe setting?
no idea i'm gonna get an alignment tommorrow too
that looks like a toe issue.... at least in my opinion...
well i haven't aligned it since i lowered it...... un even wear is due to toe? i thought that was camber.. but anyways... when i go in tommorow i'm not sure where yet.. but they will know how to adjust everyhting.. i'm not huge on suspenstion stuff
toe wears tires more than camber.. and yours looks pretty bad.. this all reminds me I need to align my car too lol
Next time you raise or lower your car, get alignment done right away and set the toe to zero. You can live with a little camber and if you are picky about it, you need to take the tires out and mount them on opposite wheels to correct it. But toe is what kills the tires. Look at drifters, their toe setting is what makes the car drift (along with other things of course).

anyways like i said i'm gettingthe alignment done tommorrow.. so anyone know about these tools?
It is a "fork" looking tool that jams into the ball joint and separates the two. Or a lever like thingy.
Ball Joint Separator? |
nah i have that.. lol for all my ait tools :).. iduno i guess i'll find out tommorrow.. i don't know what else they could be talking about.. i believe its other part of the balljoint thats (pressed?) into the arm that i'm worried about
like what i'm tryint to say.. is on the upper control arm how do i get the oem balljoint out to replace it with the new camber kit
