Actually that's a good question. I believe the camber kits are just stronger, and more adjustable, than the stock controller arms. I'm just learning this stuff too. I think you still need to get the alignment done if you play with the suspension (raise or lower a lot in one sitting). But, like I said, I'm just learning...so someone correct me if I'm wrong please.

If you notice that the wheel is tilted in or out at the top after you lower your car, then you should get it alined.....there is NO WAY that you can just eye ball it. get it done right.
Get it done at the height that you want to keep it at most of the time.....but if you keep playing with it, get ready to buy new tires.

Camber kit allows you change the camber angles you don't get with the original equipment.

You get negative camber when you lower your car and it makes you wheels go like this // \\

The camber kit will make your wheels go back to factory specs which should be like this ll ll

These are a must for cars lowered more than 1.5" in order to prevent premature wear on the inside of tires.

Yep, and let's put it this way.
If you lower your car say for more than 2"
No matter how many alignments you do, without a camber kit, you won't able to align them back to factory specs.

camber kit allows you to adjust camber. you cannot make any adjustments to the camber with a stock setup.

When you lower your car with coilovers, adjust the height to where you would usually have it at, drive it for 2 weeks, then go for an alignment. the results will tell you if you need a camber kit or not.

A little on the negative side is desirable, you don't want perfect 90 degrees on both sides. 1 degree or so negative is better for handling. If the alignment shows too much negative camber, this is when you need to get a camber kit.

There is a washer trick you can do on 5th and 6th gens for the back two wheels. So you only need to buy kits for the front.

Jugglez: In the link it says four 10 x 1.25 45mm bolts, do these have to be high strengh bolts? What about the washers?
How many washers would I need for a 2.25" drop?

thanks for all the answers, i havent been online for bout 2 days. about the camber on my car, it is not very noticeable that the front and rear tires are tilted as illustrated in the previous replies. but like what u guys say, eyeballing it isnt enough. so having a camber kit provides more adjustability to align the tires back to factory specs. or just rotate the tires more often maybe?. btw jugglez, put on the shocks i got from u a couple of hours ago and everything is fine now. now i can tell that the skunk2s are doing great. thanks again guys.

you sacrifice tires for performance
you get better handling like this // \\
I would say just leave it

As for the washer trick, DON"T DO IT

It is very dangerous, M BOLTS from Home Depot
will snap and then you're really screwed
Once you loosen the rear control arm screw
you will never tighten it as tight as it was
no matter what hardener or thread lock
you're gonna use

I've heard of people losing their control arms
and going out of control with this method

scary **** dude

DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME

Ingalls is the name of the manufacturer
