calling all emission testers
jdm b20b.. p28 chipped. 2 1/4 exhaust, high flow cat, blah blah.
I need to get my e-test done within a few weeks. If I retard the timing a bit and lean it out a bit more on crome.. what are my chances after I do a full tune-up and after I run it as a hot-rod?
I think i know what I need to do.. but i'm not happy coughing up 300$ for that. I'd much rather do it the right way. Has anybody e-tested a b20 or high performance motor and actually passed?

insurance has no way of getting it.
2 copies print after a test one for the place that tests the vehicle. and the second for the owner of the vehicle. when you go into the motor vehicle place and show them the paper they give you back your copy. cause in there computer it says under the vin if a etest is required or not. you can actually get it tested , pass, go to the motor vehicle place tell them it passed , give them the ownership (for the vin) and it'll come up as it being done.dont even need the actuall sheet, there just lazy there and like to complain alot. haha
no worries.
and if im wrong you can paint my car pink. not cause i like the color pink, but before you paint it you can get the body work done before cause it needs it. LOL hahhaahaha

insurance will find out when/if you get in an accident and try to get coverage. If the adjuster looks under the hood, you probably will get voided and black-flagged. Just tell them the truth, and pay for your hobby... If you have insurance beyond liability, you are gonna pay in the end one way or another.

What happens if I change(d) the motor in my Light-Duty vehicle?
If the vehicle is included in the program (appropriate age, registered in the program area), it will be considered a hot rod if the motor differs from the type that was originally offered by the manufacturer for that particular model year. All hot rods registered as the model year 1999 or earlier will continue to be tested according to 1980 emission standards. Vehicles registered as model year 2000 and later will be tested according to emission standards for their model year. Vehicles built to non-Canadian standards but imported into Canada will be tested similarly. Other specialty vehicles will be tested according to 1980 emission standards for an indefinite period, except for vehicles that have "kit" marked on the vehicle licence. Kit cars are exempt from the Drive Clean program.

I couldn't get tested as a hot rod because it was still a 1.6L and my car originall came with a 1.6L. So if you have a 2.0L, it'll get tested as a hot rod, as long as you let them know its a 2.0L in there.
