I still have the lining. Keeps the filter pretty covered. I couldn't imagine not having the liner, your filter would become dirty very quickly.

gotta have the lining.....I don't really see a need to take it off. Not only would you filter get dirty as hell but so would everything else including your enginebay.
I bought my CAI used and it came with the bypass valve so I put it on. If I bought it new I wouldn't have bothered to buy the bypass valve cuz IMO it does nothing.

i see i see, well the thing is that, i really don't have a choice of keeping the lining or not, b-cuz the lining was ripped off while driving, something hit it and it jarred the bolt loose and i had to rip it off because it was scraping and stuff all over the ground so if i were to put the intake on, my cone (filter) will be fully exposed.
so i guess i have to make a stop at the local honda dealership to see if they can order me a piece or something than.

I still have all my lining and yes, I'm running a bypass valve.

Definitely get a replacement lining or it'll get really dirty in there.

with the AEM CAI if you don't have the "splash guards" or lining as your calling them then you void the warrenty of the CAI and the Bypass valve.

On certain models, yes. There was a whole thread about this in the EG/EK+ forums on Honda-Tech.com.

I have the lining too.
Seems kinda risky to drive w/o it...

my lining is kinda sloping downwards but nautica a bypass valve is a waste of money unless ur driving in water that is high enuf to fully submerge ur CAI filter totally.

yeah taht is true, i heard, but it won't hurt to put it in right, i mean i already got it, and it is pre-cut already as well, but only odd thing is that i don't have anything that will bolt it up to the bay, it doesn't have an extra flange sticking out so i can bolt it something, that's the only odd part.
