Remove the stock air box and resonator, which requires removing the bumper etc.

loudsubz, this is not the case on a DX/CX/LX car. The resonator box is a black plastic box on 10mm bolts behind the pass side headlight. Incidentally, the air pickup tube is located there too... you have to remove all this, plus the filter box on top of the t/b, and then replace it with the CAI. The CAI does run behind the front bumper under the pass side headlight.

Not in the engine bay, behind the front bumper in the wheel well, you will see after you take your bumper off, and look on the side behind the bumper under the light.

This is an article for an Si I think but it's all basically the same. Be patient, cuz the site is pretty slow.

[AZN]MOoMOo : If you have a DX you'll have to cut a hole where the stock air box used to rest.
I too own a Non-Si and theres no passage for a cold air intake unless I cut. you can put it behind the rad fan but thats very little room to work with.
I totally understand your situation because i wanted to put a CAI in as well but couldn't do so.

You have an Ek as well so know this situation. How would you install a cai? and is the process the same for a short ram?

I think the dx/lx/ex is different from the si...
so.. might have room there for si.. but not dx though.

The Si is a more complex car.... the DX/LX/CX have all kinds of room there since there is NOTHING behind the bumper there. There is definitely room, you just have to remove the bumper.

Sketch is right.
When u take off the airbox there is just sheet metal with a circular indentation punched in that looks like it has to be cut out. That's the case on my 96 cx. Your's is probably the same. You will have to cut out a hole and then drop the filter behind the bumper

and Yes, there's plenty of space behind the bumper

So you have to cut a hole in the metal? For the CAI, I was told there would be no cutting/drillng req'd. How bout short ram? Any cutting req'd? How do you install the SRI then?

hmm...
dont know about u guyz' car...
but I just checked... redo the CAI again...
no space down there ... well.. there's space...
but not a big enough chunk of space to put the filter...
the splash guard .. the wheel part.. no the under part was in the way...
but I jammed in there anywayz...
and the connection between the 2 part holes rnt as great as before... where I had the intake behind the headlight on top..
but.. guess it's still ok...
or is it..??!!

well...
the filter was quite big.......
it's one of those fat cone ones.....

right now.. the cai is tight on space on both ends...
but fitting in right now...
just the end tat connect to the car... is not perfectly fitting.....
tat's all..
and the filter...
is right above the splash guard... but can see almost the filter from looking under the car.....
