A/C install???

I need some help with installing / buying AIRCONDITIONING parts for my 2000 civic hatch!!! my car is BLACK and there is NO A/C and the heat is drivin me nuts. Does anyone know:

1) what parts do i need to buy to install a complete A/C system?
2) how much for the parts (hopefully used)
3) how can i assess how much FREYON is in the used A/C system?

please help me out!!!

thanks!

no refrigerant will be in a used system, parts vary on who's sellin it and how bad they wanna get rid of it...there are many pieces u will need, best is to get EVERYTHING from the donor car

I am selling an AC system from my 2000 Civic. Minus the harness, AC button, and the compressor belt. I have a FS thread in the FS Forum.

The parts you need are compressor, condensor/fan, lines, evaporator, harness, fuses, grommets on firewall and ac ****. Before you take the AC system apart, good practice is to discharge all freon in the system.

If u try to put a A/C on your car. U are looking at probably more than $1000 for parts and labour. I think u are better off to buy a car that has a/c. Just not worth the time.

installing a/c is easy, u can do it at home...take it to a shop for a charge, granted you replaced all the seals and necessary gaskets you should be good to go with no leaks
