I hate dealing with bushings
ok now that that is out of my system
I was removing the front LCA bushings today and I noticed that there was a metal ring on the outside of the rubber is this suppose to come out to... or is it attached to the LCA? thanks

easiest way to tackle these bushings is : take a drill and put a million holes around it, then punch it out, and take a file and clean it all out, when you are done, take some fine grit sand paper and clean out the rest of the debrie and polish it up smooth.

get a saw, power or otherwise, and cut a notch in the ring, then chisle it out as well, then sand it smooooth and proceed from there. when greasing the new bushings I recommend synthetic grease, it should hold up the longest.

I havnt done mine that way yet but I know another who does and says it works great.
I just use a air chisel and bend the metal piece to smitherines, it looks like garbage when it comes out but hey whats new

bar...like always dude..ur on the money....but there is one extra thning that can be done to make it a lot easier....torch the ****! torch the rubber bushing off...then use ur hack saw to get the metal collor out. only bad thing about this way is the mess the melt bushing leave behind...other then that..works great..good luck.

well I have a system down now for removing these things ... use a SAWZALL to hack through the rubber and outside ring in 4 places then just tap it with a punch and out it comes ... simple stuff....
I guess I could use the air chisel I got for Chirstmas.... but it doesn't seem needed with the sawzall method.....
