Bubble in tire

Was getting some suspension work done a few days ago and the mechanic noticed a bubble on the front passenger tire. It's not that big and sometime you don't notice it, well to me that is :D The tire is practically brand new (got them last season).

Do you think I should replace the tire? These are the best shots I could take.

Yeah, same thing happened to my bike when I was like 15, it just got bigger and blew. I'm guessing same thing would happen to a car.
Man...I miss that bike

The bad news is:

you definatley need replace the tire,

The good news is:

Most tire manufacturers have road hazzard warrantees.
So a replacement should be pro-rated based upon the wear.

When I blew 1 of my brandnew Toyo T1S, it cost me $40 + my old tire. :)

Good luck

JSK did you do the "swap" where you purchased the old tire or was this done at a different shop/store?

Dammit!!! Taken from the Kumho site

Contact your tire dealer, ask them what they can do.

I'm sure there is some warranty for canada

punkindrublic 20-Jul-2003 06:53 AM

ya check it out cause i bought some infinity speakers and they have a similar warrenty thing... ie no warrenty outside of states... but i went to future shop and they get me new stuff

imported_echien 20-Jul-2003 09:04 AM

I think you're out of luck, I had the same problem with my winter Nokkians, no road damage coverage, switched to blizzeks what do.

From now on only going to buy tires with road damage coverage.. too many pot holes.

lordm 21-Jul-2003 05:30 AM

the bubble is not a problem. the only thing is if you over inflate your tires that is what would cause that. what you can do is send a pic to the manufacturer and most of them will be more than happy to replace your tire free of charge, because that makes them look bad, or it could have been a bad batch of tires that came of the line, and you happend to get one.

I don't over inflate my tires at all. 37psi is the max I'll go when the tires are cold.

I'm not so sure about that, I'm pretty sure it's from road damage ie hitting a pot hole or going over a curb at high speed.

one of those "BANG!!!"s then go out and check the tire a yeap there you go...

bbarbulo 21-Jul-2003 08:27 AM

What the hell... that warranty sucks ass... pretty much anything that may actually damage a tire is not covered
