brakes squealing
soundlike im hitting the squealers when i hit the brakes. i just put in new pads and rotors liek 2 weeks ago....it hapend pretty much right form the beginning, so i figured it the pads were just breaking in. now its just getting annoying.
could it be the shitty pads i bought?
any help would be great

did you forgot the anti squeal compund? dont worry if you did its a common mistake, easy fix.. sometimes you can get away without it squealing, but most of the time they squeal like a ****...
Without it, the pads move in the caliper, and the squeling sound is the metal on the back of the pad rubbing on on the caliper piston.... The anit squeal compund either lubricates it or creates a bond, i forget...

would it have came in a little pouch when i bought the clips ???
i had some lube or somthing but i didnt know what it was for so i disregarded it. i just wanted my car back on the road.
so i put the compound on the back of all 4 pads?

yup thats the stuff!
so what your going to do is remove each pad and smeare the stuff thats in the pouch on the backside of each pad... usually there is a circle or something on the back of the pad where the pad contacts the caliper piston... basically just make sure it is smeared on the part of the pad that makes contact with the caliper piston.. its alright to be generous with it, just make sure to save enough for all of them...

BoOsTZeX... this may sound lame but whats a good quick way of gettin rid of a little brake squeak. it kinda sounds like the rotors in front are constantly touchin tha pads. i doubt thats wat it is though. its kinda just like a typical squeak while youre braking, but sometimes it does it even when im not braking.

^^^ ummm no, that's antiseize to help the pads NOT bind
the anti squal compund you buy at CT in a spray form ususally and spray it on the back of the pad.... the antiseize goes on the clips where the pad slides up and down.

meh, the stuff in the tube that came with the clips is fine (yah its probably anti seize depending on the brand of pads), anti seize or anti squeal are just 2 different options, ultimately acomplishing the same thing...
mattharper, if you use anti squeal compund its important to allow it to dry before the brakes are used. otherwise, If the compound is not thoroughly dry and cured, it will simply squeeze out from behind the backing plate on the first brake application, rendering it useless. Apply a heavy bead on the backing plate, and allow it to completely dry before pad installation. This forms an elastic cushion that absorbs pad vibration, and ultimately curing the squeling...
if its anti seize compound than coat the area of the pad backing plate that contacts the caliper piston with a light thin coating of it, and dont let it touch the pad to rotor surface...
While your at it, just to be absolutly sure it wont squeal again, you can sand your rotors, and clean them really well...

buy it in the tube, you can get single aplications for like 5 bucks instead of buying a whole can of spray...
If you already have the anti seize id just use that it will work fine if thats what came with the pads
