Brakes

Okay, this isnt really for a honda, but I'm sure everything still applys.

My Moms and Sister's car need brakes and I called for the prices and the rotors have 2 different brands.

one costs $31 for the lower grade and one costs $130 for the higher grade.

now is the 130 worth it?? are they gonna last any longer?..

or should I just do the lower grade?

BTW.. there going on a 03 Bonneville and 99 Malibu.

From my experience, I've always used a lower line rotor and a 2nd or 1st line pad. Always worked out fine with no problems. I even took into the track this past weekend and it held up fine.

my mom has aftermarket brakes on her acura, its annoying because they squeal all the time. Even after i service them and lube everything up.

Umm you can change out the cheaper rotor 3X so it's kinda obvious.

get ceramic pads

I shelled out for the more expensive ones. Lots of guys use the cheaper ones with no issues. Ive heard even though theyre the same size physically, they have better casting methods etc.. You never know though, its probably all of the same hunk of iron.

I ended up going with high grade pads and low grade disks.

there are plenty of differences between brake pads. Some are semi-metallic and others (expensive) are ceramic. I'm not going to get into the whole reason why they are better, but if you care about your car and are going to have it for awhile, i'd get ceramics.

Rotors.. i've never researched, I have ideas on the differences but I'm not going to post my ideas because they might be incorrect
