brake vibrations - but not the obvious problem I think

hey, I changed my rotors and pads on the front of my civic about 6 months ago, and a few weeks ago (maybe like 4-6) I started to get a vibration like my rotors were warped but different. It won't happen all the time, it doens't seem to happen when I first start off in the morning, and sometimes other times it will brake normally. so I am thinking its not warped rotors because its not all the time...

anybody got any ideas?

funny, I have the same issue on my EF. it happens only when I brake normal, when I brake light or hard it won't happen. pads and rotors are new and so are tires. I think it's the hardware for the caliper allowing it to **** slightly and chatter. check the sliders/pins for uneven wear?

Could be the slider pins just need to be greased up, this is a very common problem. I dunno, just a suggestion.

cool, thanks for the suggestions....I will try looking at the slider pins, or atleast inspecting everything...

If you put a little silicone in the backing plate of the pad where it mates with the caliper that may solve your vibrating issues, however ask most mechanics and they will all tell you the same, honda civic rotors constantly go in and out of warp, especially on ef's.

ball joints my friends ball joints...I have been putting mine off for some time now. I put a front upper in and that tightened it up alot...but now she has the shakes slightly again. new right upper adn lower should fix her up.

hmm, balljoints I didn't think of that, but it could very well be.....how do you check for worn out ball joints?
