the dust shield behind the rotor could be touching the rotor causing the grinding, as for tthe brake vibrating when ur doing hard braking, thats ABS kicking in!

it don't sound like a dust shield grin,is more like a gear grin. pulses the same time as the brake pedel vibrate.

hey man i have the same problem i think...do u notice it more in the snow/ice(like times when the ABS would be kicking in)?? im pretty sure its a problem with the ABS, but i have no clue what it is. i think its teh ABS trying to start and something is bent or messed up somehow so its not working correctly.

anybody have suggestions?

could be warped/scored rotors. You could machine them if that is the problem and they are still in spec.

Is an ABS light on?

You brake pedal will shalke/pulse when it kicks in. ABS is basically the same as you pumping your brakes but way faster than your capable of.

Maybe the weird feeling your talking about is the fact that your car is sliding on the ice and snow.

abs comes on in dry and wet weather.
it has nothing to do with what the weather is like outside.
it has to do with the amount of force applied to the brakes via the pedal.

anybody think of anything else?
ill get my rotors checked, anything else?

this sound isnt normal, and shouldnt be happening. i know what abs feels like, u can feel it on the highway when braking harder. but this makes a loud sound. like a clanking or grinding. its recurring like its happening with the wheels as they go around, and it slows down when they do

calipers
pads

on my dad's old car, the pads actually f*cked up the rotors really badly, they drove into the rotors and like cut into the metal lol
