it is actually a 12mm bolt.

you'll need channel locks or some from of a c-clamp to depress the piston back in too.

And i would lube up the sliders too

well if you are just replacing the pads and the rotors have plenty of meat left and aren't warped whats the harm in a fine turn of the rotor? I wouldn't spend the money on it.. but if u have access to a shop I would do it.

But machining warped rotors is stupid.. the customer always comes back a few weeks later

the reason you dont machine any rotor on a fwd car nowadays is becaue there is no material on the hub. you can have a true surface on the rotor, but the hub is almost 99% of the time warped. The only rotors I machine are some domestic trucks that incorporate the wheel bearings in with the rotor. Other than that, I wont do it, not even on my own car.

Anytime u cut material off a rotor you totally change the expansion and cooling capabilities of that rotor. Always keep that in mind.

rotor turnign is of the past when rotors were expensive...now adays they are cheap as dirt so you might aswell buy new ones. not to mention as stated above you are taking heat disapating material off the rotor so in turn it warps faster
