brake master cylinder

what size brake master cylinder an EF civic use

bbarbulo 06-Feb-2007 03:28 PM

13/16 for all except EX sedan. you can also use a certain year prelude or certain year integra which are 7/8 size but you'll have to do the research for yourself, I dont' feel like looking now.

thx man
so any 13/16 master cylinder will work

imported_SMGFANDOTCOM 07-Feb-2007 07:47 AM

the prelude is 15/16 and 88-89 will fit for sure.

Don't put a used 13/16 88-91 master on your car...buy a new one! New ones are only around $100 from UAP

They are all **** after 19 years lol.

how about a newer model civic that uses 13/16 brake master cylinder will this work also e.g. 2k Civic Dx model

bbarbulo 07-Feb-2007 02:06 PM

no the newer models won't bolt to your original brake booster. size is just one thing, there is size of the rod, layout of the bolt pattern and layout of where the lines connect, plus the thread size on the lines (well the thread size is only diff't on some integra models vs. EG civics)

you need an EF master cyl. I did mine about two years ago, the 13/16 is not very expensive at all to do. 15/16 one from the EX is nearly double the price at $150 or so.

dont get the 90-93 it does not bolt up to the booster :tsk:
