Brake drums

Brake drums

Can anyone tell me how to open up the brake drums, I tried everything and it won't give. Im thinking about bring out the torch.

use an 8mm or 10 mm bolt, forgot which size, basically you stick it in the hole on the drum, and tighten and it will pop it off

take out one of the bolts that hold your exhaust manifold heatshield in place.. put it in the hole in the drum along with some wd40 and tighten it until the drum pops off

your shoes could have made grooves in the drum if they are extremely warn out. Then you need to back off the shoes to release the drums. They is a little rubber plug in the back of the drum the you remove then adjust the little wheel inside. Do you have a haynes manual? This might be a good time to buy one....

the bolt trick usually works. make sure to release the e-brake though.

12mm bolt came off my car, forgot where but it works, also make you tighten the bolt into the hole evenly.

hammer always works, just start hitting lightly all around and it should come out fine, mine did

2 bolts is effortless....crank them in equally the dum will fall off into your hands.
