Bov open during idle
Well i have an LS turbo (was tuned by someone on this board, andrew?)
anyways i have a greddy type rs bov and it wasnt going off at all and i was getting the most compressor surge so i took out the softer spring inside the bov(there were two) and the compressor surge is gone and the bov goes off in boost. Only problem is the valve inside the bov seems to be open quiet a bit at idle , this normal? some of my boosted friends say theres is shut...

definately shouldn't be open at idle.
Some BOV's you can add a shim (washer) to the spring and that will help keep the BOV shut at idle. I tuned a turbo prelude this week that had this same problem, but his BOV was fluttering at idle, put a couple more washers in and it solved the problem.
Others have a bolt/nut on the top that can be adjusted.
If that won't help, take it apart and make sure the diaphram isn't torn (i've also seen this on the cheaper BOV's)....if your BOV is the style that has a diaphram in it.
