Bogging problems

Hi all,

I noticed it lately, for some reason my car idles very rough when it rains.

When I put the key in, I wait till all the CEL lights are gone and then turn it over. But when it rains and I do the same thing car starts idling from 500 rpm and then slowly slowly it goes up to 1.5-1.7 rpm.

After that when I try to drive it around it doesn’t stall, it just bogs so much to a point that it seems its going to stall but it doesn’t. And when I give gas it doesn’t go anywhere, it accelerates very slowly and makes weird noise from exhaust, kind of like Harleys.

And after driving for like 10-15 mins everything works fine, no bogging, no Harley sound coming out of exhaust, and car runs perfectly normal.

Anyone knows what is wrong, or anyone even know what I am talking about?

Thanks in advance.

how many K's since the last tune-up?

if you think its the injectors grab some fuel system cleaner at c/t. and let it run through.

Usually when it rains and your car bogs or doesnt start, it's ignition related but you said today it was fine. Check the condition of your wires and cap. Is your gas mileage off? That;'s usually a good sign that you need a tune-up done.

not injectors.... prolly dist cap and rotor need cleaning/changing. what did your 'tune up' entail last year??? it could be bad plug wires too, what kinda wires are on there?
