i am currently getting my engine built and they suggested me to use the block guard. Out of al the stuff im doing, its the most expensive. If n e one has n e advice feel free to let me know.
I am also shop pening Typr R rods. would that be worth it or its just a waste of money cuz im going N/A.

as for the block guard they do work but are u satying all motor? stock compression? if u are my opinion is not to do it. but if u r raising the compression then might be a good idea. the bad side of them is that they have been known to fall down the sleeve. i know nothing about shot pening rods.

save your money if your doing a mild build don't shot peen the rods and cancell the block guard. Your gonna run high 11:1's in the compression ctr pistons right..?? I mean you will be more than find on stock type r rods and no block guard. TEll them they better use a torque plate when they bore/hone yoru cylinders

the next step woudl be forged pistons and eagle rods

torque plate on a honda? i dont think so. they are floating sleeves and that is not required. neither is shot peaning.

closed deck is good if you go the big bore route or turbo and is not required for 81.25 mm bore.
