no need to post two threads related to the same topic.

How much horses are you pushing?

imported_GHT 16-Dec-2005 01:09 AM

well when i get my new engine i hope to be pushing 185 to the wheels.

u dun need big brakes for 185whp.... maybe when u're beyond 300-350whp... that would be something nice imo

It depends what u need your car for, track, strip etc...

i have used brembo grand turismo brakes on the street and they are very very sensitive and loud. i wouldnt use them on my car. upgrade your brake fluid, pads, and get some steel braided lines and you will be good to go.

Nova_Dust 16-Dec-2005 10:03 AM

Honestly, big ass brake kits are for cars that need to reduce speed from high speed down to cornering speed. But again, as long as you have the money, why not.

kwasley 16-Dec-2005 10:42 AM

get the motor first
:dito:

185 whp, what motor would that be???

imported_kIeRaN 16-Dec-2005 10:46 AM

upgrade to ITR brakes :)

Lots of choices, LS/VTEC, CRVTEC, ITR, CTR, GSR, B16, lots :)

LEITNER 16-Dec-2005 12:53 PM

how did we go from brakes to engines

chris_si98 16-Dec-2005 01:06 PM

my set-up will be brembo blanks and EBC pads. And I'll be running around 200whp. It's not necessary to upgrade to a big brake kit(edit)

I

maybe i'm wrong, but even if its for track or drag... with lil power, with lil top speed... you don't likely require that much braking power.... less power means longer time to reach higher speed and the top speed should be lower???

i might be wrong, but i never see too much need of a bigger brake for low hp/torque cars... and usually (not always) track or drag cars have 180+whp (200hp at the crank)... i'm not saying there's no stock or low hp cars on track or at drags... but i think those people would prefer better suspension instead of brakes for those kinda hp/torque... again, i might be wrong... but that's just what i thought at first =)
