Beware Of Interface Error 2000 Civic
I took my 2000 civic into a honda dealership to have them check what was going on with my check engine light. I had the car in previously for a transmission computer problem. It would be mechanically in park but the computer still saw it in drive. So this ment that it had to be towed to the dealership 3 times. So I had the entire computer system replaced. Anyway, I took it in and the tech hooked it up to the computer and said that it was an "interface error". I asked him what it was and he didn't know. I received a call from the dealership saying that the "interface error" was caused becuase the main computer was testing and taking information from one sensor in the car and insted of transmitting it to the main computer was sending it to another sensor which in turn caused the check engine light to come on. I asked the tech how I can avoid this problem and he said that there is no way other than replacing the whole computer (again) or stripping it of it's programming. So I stripped it of it's programming and replaced it with new. This was all over the course of A MONTH!! And no one could tell me what was causing this. So be warned, any "P1802..." error could be trouble.
