My cousin's shop. He might not be the cheapest, but he/I will guarantee the work. Some of the TCC members go to him.

Lots of choices here, I might as well add Altech to your list.

Remember, you are looking for quality of work, not how much you can save.

what about Splitfire, any body have any opinions of them ?

Quick_CX 11-Jul-2003 03:10 PM

NOOOOOOOOO...no splitfire.....unless u want crap wiring that will melt to block and have him scam u on computers and parts.....belive me everyone i know thats gone there have had HUGE problems...beliue me buddy talk to my guy ....

silentkill03 11-Jul-2003 09:50 PM

what about Altech ? No offense, I just want to go to a reputable, well known shop

Jugglez 11-Jul-2003 09:54 PM

If you want a hassle-free swap, with full warranty and no worries take it to altech. they've done so many swaps for club members in the last 3 months alone and not a single complaint. One member got a full GSR swap and it was done in a day... very clean swap.. the engine was mint.

KSR is suppose to be a great place with good service and excellent prices...altech is expensive as ****...I woudl say KSR over altech

punkindrublic 13-Jul-2003 04:36 PM

didn't ken (ksr) get booted from the tcc for screwing up someones swap??

he did install a tranny and clutch on my motor and i've personally had zero problems... and the price was right for sure...

Jugglez 13-Jul-2003 05:43 PM

A few months ago my clutch died out of nowhere. Took it to Altech and it turns out the clutch pedal wasn't installed properly when i had my manual conversion done by KSR. 2 bolts that were supposed to hold the pedal in place were not there. Joe fixed it, gave me a sweet deal on a new clutch with install. It pays to be a TCC Member.

HAPPY 13-Jul-2003 05:52 PM

I had my swap done at Altech - had a few minor problems (not install related) and all were cleared up at no cost to me. Can't beat that. This inlcuded a few sensors replaced for free and a few axles that I destroyed at the track.

Make sure you get something in writing..

Also helps if the installer is a certified mechanic..
