Hi everyone, just found out about this forum today and thought i would join,so heres my first post... Does anyone know the best place to get a turbo installed on a crx zc in or around toronto, im looking for the best place even if its more expensive, a place that is knowledgable on tuning the car on the dyno with a wideband o2 sensor, the zc is fully built, i have the greddy turbo kit.Zdyne standalone ecu, .any help would be appreciated, i was going to bring it to al-tech but have heard some some good and bad things about them

I'm sure Joe from Altech would have no problem slapping that on and tuning it for you...

I second that. Altech (416)539-0240 is very well know for turbo installs and tuning.

I was there last month and a guy had come up with his sister all the way from New York to have Joe fix(poor install from new york shop) and tune his b18c greddy turbo'd civic.

You should of seen the guy's face after the thing was tuned

A smile ear to ear baby.

On a serious note, he does do good work.
Tell him Ray sent you (......may help????)

Hope this helps and welcome to the board.

Well.. Altech does have one of the fastest turbo cars in Canada... No doubt about that. Props to them for putting Canada on the Import Drag scene.

If you need a second opinion.. Bring it over to my shop and I'll take care of it for you. Sorry.. don't have my own 9s car yet, but I've had my fair share of playing around with turbos... Well, that's if you consider building my own turbo kit as being knowledgeable. And a fair bit of experience playing with the Zdyne.. Which I assume is the GOLD one you're referring to.

But then again, I'm only running 11s NA.. So.. Who's to say I know what I'm doing.

I think someone took offense to the Altech comment

there are a few places connectedwith TCC that would be able to assist you ..... I.E Altech and KSR..

people may have their bias based on service alreay rendered or locations owned and operated .........

Both would be very good choices , having only heard word of mouth from TCC members and having no bias I could not give you a hundred percent choice .......

It may be a cost question

Sorry Ken didn't mean to upset you buddy, but I didn't know of your experience with turbo's
I can only really comment on what I've experienced personally.

I know first hand that Joe does a good job with turbo'd cars

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure you do excellent work and I usaully advise people to check with our affiliates when looking for a shop.
I've heard nothing but good things from our fellow TCC guys concerning KSR.

I don't think I upset you anyway , but if I did it wasn't intentional

BAH.. you guys are too worried about upseting people... No harm in a little friendly competition...

What I've learned in this business, is no matter what you do, or how good or bad you are... there will always be someone who's better than you.. or out to drag you down.. Depends how you interpret that, but what I'm trying to say is.. NO WORRIES.

The bottom line is.. for the guy to get the best service and the job done right. The first time. Whether it be done by Altech or myself, or even someone else. .

I second that, Ken's customer support is real good. Although I have never talked to him on the phone or in person, Im always talking to him on ICQ. Great guy, anwers all my questions and more. Its a plus to have great customer service like this, even if you havnt bought or done business with him.

KS-R. Would you be able to do dyno tuning? the setup i have is the gold Zdyne ecu,450cc injectors, greddy turbo kit w intercooler, J&S safeguard and monitor, greddy profec b, aquamist water injection kit, if you have experence with the Zdyne that would be a asset, im thinking of getting this done this spring, what im afraid of is getting a bad install or tuning(as tuning is everything) but it sounds like u know your stuff

Dyno tuning won't be a problem as we'll be heading down to the dyno quite often to dyno the new drag car/setup...

Umm.... don't mean to compete with you KS-R.

Anyway, this probably won't work out for you because it's in London, but RPP motorsports installed the turbo on my car. He's an infamous Porshe mechanic, translation - really good with turbo stuff. He so did all the work for Steve Wilcox's car which has won't quite a few awards in the Canadian and US import circle. Wilcox had a greddy kit installed. He also works on 6 other very nice cars in the club: S4, MX-6 with a J-spec v6 swapped in, 6th gen sedan with b16 swapped in, Supercharged GSR, Turbocharged Si, Supercharged Si.

Anyway, to check out picks of my install:

Most people can't do it themselves......

It's easier to go to a profeesional and overall normally cheaper
