best intake?
What is the best intake to increase fuel economy?
i was thinking about a short ram or K&N drop in. i have a 96civic hatchback |
umm... apparently short ram can increase fuel efficency but because it sounds so nice ever since i got mine it probably decreased it haha
i think K&N drop in is the cheapest way to make your engine more efficient, but i don't think the results from either are really noticable... |
Just got a V2 intake, and all it does is well...NOTHING. LOL
I will probably lose fuel effiecency but I dont really care. The guy told me that AEM uses K&N filters on their products Is this true? |
AEM uses K & N Filters on their products, this is true.
As for fuel economy, don't bother changing it. I noticed only a 25km/tank increase when I did I/H/E. |
if you want sound, get a SRI, CAI or v2, it doesn't really matter, they all do the same thing. What is this they do you ask?? They make a cool sound.
Otherwise just get a drop in filter if your not going for the sound. I'm not joking about this either. I've had 3 intakes on my car already. I tried them all, except the drop in. I start with a SRI, then CAI, and now the v2. I must say the v2 makes an awesome sound though. Performance wise, it really doesn't do much. |
the money you spend on trying to improve fuel efficiency will take a long time to recover from the pumps. best bet is to just keep the car in good shape and well tuned up all the time. occasionally run some seafoam in your tank.
