Best Brand For Coilovers
 

Does anyone know which brand of coilover will perform the best? I've been looking into Eibach, Skunk2, H&R, and Neuspeed.

I've heard nothing but good things when it comes to Eibach.

What type of coilover? The sleeve type coilover that is basically a spring with adjustable perches or a full coilover that includes the strut.

my buddy jus got Eibach, and loves it.

Eibach make's Spring's for cars and Valve spring's for race team's. The company is on the Forefront of Spring technology. My buddy has them on his celica and hasn't had a problem with them in the last 3 yr's.

Looking for coilovers that includes the struts. I'm guessing everybody is recommending Eibach. What about Skunk2? I've notcied that they're cheaper at one of the TCC affliate stores.

Eibach's ar e also neuspeeds so keep that in mind...

I don't think Eibach makes a full coilover kit. As far as I know they only make springs and struts for Civics.

Skunk2 only makes the sleeve type not full coilovers.

For a full coilover that includes the springs and struts, you're looking at around $900 and up. The Omni's are getting great reviews, but I've heard they are pretty stiff and they don't offer any damping adjustment.

I'm happy with my Teins SS coilover. :)

GC (uses Eibach springs), Koni (Uses Eibach springs), Eibach, H&R, Nuespeed (said to be same as H&R), Tein, ST, Progress, etc... any brand name is fine, you should instead be looking at the spring rates that they offer, go for the one that best suites your needs

I'll give my input on my Tein SS:

They provide a very nice smooth ride. The car handles like it's on rails. I can take corners with ease...but could use a higher performance tire (just don't care cuz I don't drive like a maniac or go to the track). The spring rates are pretty soft which provides a very smooth ride, handles bumps really well, but is probably too soft if you are a typical track type.

AAA+ in my books for what I wanted though.

I just got my Omni Street Coilovers installed and they handle very well. The ride is smooth until you hit a rough raod, then it gets a little jarring, but that goes for any sport / race suspension, pretty much.

The best performance brands out there could be Ohlins or Moton for the super hardcore track folks. These start at 5500 USD per set and can go up to 10,000.

For track purposes, Spoon (Showa - OEM Honda), Tein, Buddy Club, Zeal, T1R, Toda, Kayaba (KYB), HKS, Mugen (Showa - OEM Honda) (and I am sure some other brand names) all make respectable full adjustable coilovers. These start at 2000 USD per set and spring rates vary but are ready when you order them.

Entry level sports type non-adjustable coilovers can be had for less than or slightly over 1000 dollars CDN - Omni, H&R cup kit, Spoon, Mugen, Tein... etc.

You can also mix and match coils and struts.

Really to answer this question in full, what kind of budget are you looking to spend? What are your uses?

Ground controls hands down thats what I'd use and am using currently

I'll second that.. they're pretty cheap too.. for full coilover.

Sorry, to sound like a newb but what is the brand on the coilover kits on that link. Is it Teknotik or is teknotik the name of the store.

They are Yonaka Coilovers.
