ls/vtec or b20vtec is fine stock, People say you have to put a lot of money into them. Its bull****, 99% of those people have never seen one, built one, or drove one. Before you believe all the **** talk, get your facts straight.

Jeeze, it was just like that damn h22 myth where it would make your car handle like utter crap. People these days.............

What are you talking about? Did you read the question.

the question is what can he get for $2000 installed

any frankie motor takes time, money, and knowledge to build. All of which this fella doesn't have.

There is no myth to the H22 swap. There if definately a sacrifice in handling. To say there is no difference means you don't know what you're talking about.

No one I know AutoXes a civic with an H22, there are reasons for that. I'm not saying an H22 civic is not driveable, i know it is for I have driven one, but if you want to do any motorsports that require alot of turning, you're definatley at a big disadvantage.

Mine works amazingly.

There is no worries to the strength of the sleeves or rods, unless you plan to go forced induction. If forced induction is the route chosen, like you said, any motor that is boosted you are eventually going to blow the block.

so unless you plan to boost, don't worry about the strength of the sleeves or rods... and the block.

You are right sir, but if you are not going to boost a b20, I would spend some extra money and have the current block sleeved, bored/honed to 85mm and go with higher compression.

1sloweg, only if you knew how many of these things I have seen and experienced. I have tracked with an h22 hatch and the amount of understeer and instability during hard breaking is just scary. It might be differnt on another hatch, but on this one, it was reality. As for LS vtec, I have had a couple of friends build these. I never understood the point of it, you can have a gsr motor redone for the same amount of cash and blow the doors off an ls/vtec. In essence they are the same thing, high compression bottom end on a vtec head. I have had 2 friends attempt an ls/vtec, one ended up selling it after blowing some bottom ends. The other guy is happy, but he is one of those guys that just has too much of his parents money to spend. Its like trying to stick a cats head on a dogs body..........

As for boostd, I was 17 once with some cash and I didnt listen.
Its cool to spend some money, you live once, you gotta enjoy life.
Is it worth $7,000 to get 200 whp? Since when do you need to go 230 kmph? You might be as fast as some Porsche, but the fact is, you are still sitting in a honda Civic.

Those neons are pretty nice, first time I saw one, I was thinking why the guy turboed a neon. Later I find out that the new neon is turbo. I love the stock intercooler they use, very aggresive. Big step up for dodge or chrystler or whoever make it.

Nothing touches the g35 coupe though. Well unless we get into 911's and Ferraris.

even though this thread is way old, for turbo you want to lower the compression not raise it
