Batteries

Anyone know any good batteries for an EK? Preferably cheap ones! I know there is Interstate and Optima, any other good ones?

imported_Thrill_House 16-May-2005 09:38 PM

Optimas are not cheap my friend, interstates arent that cheap either in my experience.

imported_Mikeye 16-May-2005 09:44 PM

Yeah i know optima, interstate and stinger are the more expensive ones.

I was asking if there are any other good ones that arent that expensive.

You could try the MotoMaster 72mth or Eliminator.
They are made by Exide.
All the others sold at CT are crap.
There is also a second line Interstate battery as well. Can't remember the name right now. ??Cana-Tron?? or something

optima's are worth every penny... i had light dimming before i put mine in..i relocated batery to the rear and put an optima.. nothing at all.. very sweet.. good on start ups too

imported_SaYjAiBaO 16-May-2005 11:30 PM

Yes, and in actualality there are only a handfull of battery companys in the world, they just get produced under alot of names.

imported_Mikeye 17-May-2005 10:12 AM

How much cold cranking amps you get from the energizer? I know that interstate and optima offer 500 CCA for civics.

Gunmetalef 17-May-2005 11:16 AM

my optima is 1000 CCA

imported_b16turbohatch 17-May-2005 04:30 PM

^^^^ but u r not using a 51r yellow top lol. the best thing to do is relocate your battery to the back and use a bigger red top optima. i have a energizer as a back up and when i use it, i have no complaints with it at all can;t beat the price. motomaster 72 sucks ass and is not worth $5 as a scrap battery. i use a 51r yellow top optima right now and its ok i guess but i will be relocating my battery to the back soon and switching to a red top. working for a battery company has benefits.

imported_Solid Alibye 17-May-2005 11:45 PM

mmmmm Optima yellow top mmmmmm <lol>

Of couse that would be ideal; but hey how about another stock Honda battery? Like $90 and will be better than an regular crappy tire battery!!!!!

Remmeber; you get what you pay for!

Gunmetalef 18-May-2005 12:03 AM

ye b16.. your right its a size 35? red top.. its in my trunk.. worth the install..
