ball joints and bushings etc

how often do all the balljoints upper and lower need to be changed? i was told that i needed them to be fixed when i heard some squeaking but after i went back to stock and replaced my shocks..the squeaking was gone so it was the shock and not the bj.. anyone? and whats the approx. cost to change them all.. oem or better.. i dont mind aftermarket b/c its cheaper but..
yea

thanks

i can tell you oem prices for lowers are 90 bucks each...just under 70 if you were a member.
I've heard that OEM is the best way to go with balljoints, but whatever it's your ride

break as in when the boot splits, not as in when they break off the knuckle

I would fix it when you hear it creaking. Its not fun having a ball joint break at 130 kmph on the 401. Its easy to fix yourself too, do a search.

play meaning that you can wiggle the whel while its jacked up, the same thing happened to me, i didnt change my ball joints and they were squeeking and they ended up breaking and it ripped out my axel, it costed me total 450 when it could have only been like 120-180

If you drive a Prelude, you need to change the lower ball joints with every oil change...

I had mine lower right replaced this past Saturday. They had it on the hoist and pulled the tire from the top and then the bottom, while someone spot checked the play in the wheel and ball joint.

I guess, it all depends on how you drive your car on wear and tear, and I guess the only way to know is when your car show's symptoms.
