Bad Camber Wear Tires

I didn't do an alignment and now my tires have some pretty bad camber wear (the thread stuff is exposed) - but the rest of the tire is in great condition. Is it in the danger zone, or can I flip them around and get some more use out of them?

if they are not directional you can make them switch sides, and get a little bit of use out of them

if they are directional, you can get them unmounted and remounted the other way and slap them on and get a little bit of use out of them

either way, i suggest just buying new tires becasue bad tires are very unafe for you and others on the road

just get an alignment..

and if it's needed a camber kit

if you wanna run the possiblilty of a blow out on the highway by all means go for it. But i dunt think its a good idea

like everyone said.

get an alignment and camber kit and buy new tires

its cheaper in the long run because you dont want to be spending 400+ on new tires all the time

get an alignment first, your toe could be off. mine was and it was eating my tires really bad.

No Way...buy new tires.

Is it the front tires only?

If so you're probably looking at an alignment and some new rubber. Otherwise, it will most likely be camber/alignment/tires...or just raise your car back to stock height and cut your losses.

if you can see the threading then no...

if they're directional you can always get them flipped on the rim... for next year...

either way in this case if you can see the thread then get new tires...

Set toe to zero and you are find for the next set of tires.

People should really call it toe wear.

I switched to my winters - alignment's OK with these.

Looks like I might have to lose the front tires since the thread's exposed.

So, does this mean I have to do an alignment twice a year - once when I put my summers on , and once when I put my winter on?

imported_hdave 10-Nov-2005 11:26 AM

shouldnt really need an alignment when switching rims/tires

imported_mikepasini 10-Nov-2005 09:24 PM

dude, i had the same problem with my tired, thread exposed and i wiped out on a slow turn when it was raining just cause my tires had like zero traction.

Symmetry 11-Nov-2005 01:35 PM

Since my winters seem OK right now... should I align now, or when I put the summers back on?

Whats meant by exposed tread? Or are you talking about the meatl strapping/belting if so replave them asap.

There is no hope in swapping the tires to the other side at this point.
