question is...im doing a b20 vtec...b20z block...and a b16 head with omni valve springs and retainers.. NOW, i have a stage 2 cam. I was told by defcon racing that it wont fit..ITS TOO BIG..he has a buddy club spec 3 and its perfect. A skunk 2 stage 2 is way too big and the pistons will hit everything. NOW i just bought this cam, he said i would have to shave the pistons down a bit. HE is assuming, he hasnt seen my build. ANyone have any experience...

im assuming hes referring to your valve to piston clearances? are you running aftermarket pistons?

Tell the guy to notch bigger valve releifs in your stock pistions, if that guy says the cams still wont fit, than bring your car somewhere else.

there the problem then. if your gonna run a stage 2 cam. it will work alot better with an aftermarket forged, high compression piston. and you can buy them to account for valve to piston clearance. i know when guys are doing the k24/k20 hybrids with accord and element blocks, custom pistons are needed for the same reason. crv and tsx are different story. but sorry to get off track
