b20tec???
so how goes the build up guys? I haven't heard much from you guys since waaay back when :p
Any progress on the b20tec buildup? :) |
Part I of the article is done, just waiting for Camille to write a little introduction and then we're set. As for his car, it's already been sent off. But when it'll be finished is anyone's guess. :D
|
cool cool man...can't wait...feelin giddy already..lol :)
|
Yeah I'm interested in seeing what Camilles car can do as well.. I bet when that sucker is finished and tuned that it'll be meaaaaaan!
Regards, OK |
it's gonna be absolutely retarded... if it runs :)
|
What about reliability factors though?
How consistant will this sucker be? Good for daily driving? All that jazz... Juggz, fwd me the article for my viewing pleasure please. Regards, OK |
what have you guys finished so far?
|
Reliabily factors were the main priority when were going through all the options for parts. We're going with alot of Honda genuine parts and engineering aspects for the rebuild. Should be as reliable as any Honda motor rebuilt for performance. Consistency won't be a prblem, this will be strictly N/A and with the compression ratio, bore, and head work Camille chose to run with it'll be a beast throughout the powerband.
No sneak peaks! :p This isn't my article so I'm not leaking out classified information till it's time. :D |

Ok Camille, I KNOW you're reading this.. Don't make me come over there and beat you down... I wanna see what ya got cookin over there...
You know Duy, I'm actually considering a Poor Mans Type R over the course of a year or two!!!! I'm THINKING about it kinda seriously LOL. Regards, OK |
Really? But you just spent all that cash on new pistons and rods and labour and ****. You coulda just bought a GSR block and you would have a Poor man's ITR right now. :)
|
i mean what have you guys finished in terms of his ride...
|
The car was sent off only a few days ago so I wouldn't know, you'd have to ask Camille about that once he gets his butt over here. :)
|
No... my buddy in St.Catharines is gonna H22 his car... I could purchase his old JDM B16A2 for a VERY cheap price, then get myself a GSR block and slowly put together an alternate motor.
The expense would mean no more mods on my Civic for the season, but over the course of the off season I could build up the new motor and then in spring sell my motor as a turbo ready, built B16 :) or keep it in storage incase I blow the new one :) Regards, OK |
Ah yes, I see. Having a spare motor is always a luxury.... I'm actually thinking of doing up a separate motor as well once money starts to flow better around here. :) I'm thinking a streetable econo LS/VTEC. Fully built B18A block, 1st gen B16A or B17A head with ITR goodies, SiR tranny and custom chipped p28.... that won't be for some time though.
|
sell it to me :D
|
Ouch yeah, you can bet your arse that is gonna cost a few duckets for sure!
What platform you gonna put it in? You know, if you need a test vehicle I'm sure I could make my hatch available for a lil while and I'll daily drive test it all for you :) Yes, a spare motor would be nice luxary we will have to see what happens over the next couple of months.. I have a few things in the works which could lead to a very large sum of coin headed my way. If it pans out, I'll go ahead and buy my buds motor and start hunting for a GSR block. If not, I'll have to settle for my turbo ready B16A2 and then just start putting the cash away for the turbo kit. Regards, OK |
cough** be patient foos** cough
