b20 z vtec

Drove my car today and i was makin a rite turn, cars were coming so i accelerated fast and up 2 only 6800 gear 1. ANd then granny shifting...Check engine light came on...COdee 22 im asuming..lack of oil pressure...As my tuner said....Now what do i do..

get an oil pressure guage like your tuner said and see what the oil pressure is.

It could be the oil pressure switch or the wiring for vtec.

But i would assume a lack of oil pressure would cause the "low oil" light to come on, instead of a code 22.

I would check the wiring first because that would be easier then purchasing an oil pressure gauge. But if the wiring checks out then do what lenny said

stop driving that thing around and trying to pop that vtec, take it to a qualified shop...that has done b20/vtec swaps.

apparently he did....and i guess they weren't much help.

nadir 21-Apr-2007 04:46 AM

daily driving shifting at 4k max....so thats alright i guess..waiting for my oil pressure gauge to arrive so i can install it and pop vtec..until then..nothing.......THen if i dont see a drop in oil pressure, ill know its the wiring
