if you want good power and higgh revs... the B17 crank in the b20 blocks yields the best rod to stroke ratio... combined with a b16 head and an ITR valve train and you'd be happy

For a B20 it is easiest to use existing parts from an LS to make the engine work...ie. intake manifold.
B20s are not designed to rev high, that's why the power band on a B20 is from 2000-5000rpm. After 6000 rpm there is not much power. B20s are all about low end torque.
B20s are awesome....I'm saving up for one now.

adding a VTEC will indeed give you high end power....adding stage 2 or 3 cams would also do the same.
but then again, a b20 turbo would be a monster.
adding turbo or a VTEC would require getting it sleeved....or at least i would.

you're prolly thinking Dart/Payn Technologies block.
B20 built by Endyn blew up by accident at 10K rpm. Not that the block let go... but rod stretch got the best of it.
Estimated price of said setup - $12,000 including labour and all the parts.

if I remeber the old ones b20 had stock sleeves that were posted adn it had jun 3's the smacked the piston.....even then the motor was a dyno queen...it last like 10 minutes of dyno time....you coudl boost eh **** outta a d series and make 250-270 whp for 30 sec maybe...
