theres alot to read about building it up, the cylinder walls on the b20 are thinner than all other b series, unless u plan to build this block up completely including pistons, rods, t sleeve etc.

dont plan on revving this engine high max most likely around 6500rpm, but vtec engines live in the high rpm power range so if u doing a build just build a gsr block with a b16 head and build it so u can rev it around 9000rpm or higher

the only pro if its built properly is higher amounts of torque

All depends on the build he wants but unless you run a turbo setup on the b20 engine, you don't need to sleeve it for a mild NA setup.

I have a friend that has build a crvtec motor with stock pistons/rods and a fresh hone with a built head and runs upto 8700rpm and all is good on it. The motor we stripped down this winter and everything is within spec and tolerences.

Only thing I would recomend with putting on a b16 head is put in aftermarket rod/head bolts from arp and then do whatever combination of cams/valvetrain you want to yeild good power results

look, if you do a search you will find tons of info.

now a b16 head on a gsr block? no. you will be under 10:1 compression and the engine will be slower. the b20 with stock rods will rev to 7500 all day if tuned proper.

b20 with stock pistons and a pr3 head is an eccono build and will provide a horrible combustion space yeilding lower power than a engine with proper domed pistons and a head that has been modified to work with an 84mm bore not 81mm.

finally what you want to look into is a gsr complete. add CTR cams and you will have a nice little kick tail engine that will be reliable and rev to 8000 rpm all day when tuned proper

I do have the b20 and sir head in my car, from experience when people say it only revs up to 6500 or lower or whatever its alod of you know what. I ran this setup for 3 months already i rev my motor to 8000 rpms all the time bone stock, no problems what so ever. The only thing you need to know that when you do the swap is that these engines always run very rich which is safe. Like they say rich is safe lean is mean. By tuning your computer you will wake up the engine it will be nice and quiet as well as lots of torque.

personally at the moment stock everything with my tuned ecu im looking at 192 hp with 166 footpounds and i rev 8500 all day long no problems.

b20z with stock unmilled gsr head....no you will be fine. If you wanna run a higher lift cam then i would cut deeper reliefs. But if you want to run a higher lift cam i would raise the CR, and in order to raise the CR without milling the head and decking the block a lot (so much that the head and block would be useless without the other) you need forged pistons. I've actually seen 84mm and 84.5mm cast pistons and are higher compression and much cheaper than forged pistons. Do a search on honda-tech and you will see what i mean.

Did you get more tuning done by paul or something? cause where did the 30whp come from? Not being a dick or calling you out, just curious.

well firstly my stock flywheel was cooked. it wasnt resurfaced probally when the clutch was first changed. Probally why i pushing such weak hp when the car was first dyno. so i went ahead and did a 7 pounds flywheel and stage 2 competion. Also iam now using a SIR head on the car. It was tuned again and the numbers were roughly 192whp and 166torque. I will have to check the dyno paper. The next step will be skunk 2 cams.

Also i never said i gained 30 whp just off a flywheel. Not being a dick just pointing it out so i dont look dumb.
