hmmmmmmm goood idea....

ust remember that Tuning cost alot of money!
Crazy import spent 800 bucks for tuning that couldnt be done b/c of his crappy DRAG manifold... now that he is running Inline Pro, he doing 12's all day...

ive been thinking of all day to build either an LS/VTEC or build my B16 with JDM CTR pistons to bump up my compression with matched CTR cams!

redo the bottom end of course!
but i dont what route.. i love turbo for the sheer rush of boost but ALL MOTOR is also surpringly impressive with instant response!

Like I said do cams, pistons, I/H/E and TUNING.

You will have a lot of power and torque, for a small investment. You can be in the range of 170/140. But the mod that will notice you the most difference would be the tranny.
so your saying 250whp boosted is hard to reach with proper tuning (uberdata, hondata, neptune etc)? If this was true how come there are so many boosted LS's making easy 240-250whp, some even on an FMU setup? Once you get closer to and above 300whp yes its a good idea to look at forged pistons and rods but for his goals thats definitely overdoing it.

if you do get 404s make sure you get pistons to bump the compression ratio first. go on www.nonvtec.com for information on boosting the LS. here's also a thread on all the people with boosted LS motors on H-T.

http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1323059&page=1

a lot of them run very consistent numbers between 225-250 on 9-10psi.

FPR's differ from N/A to boosted applications.

If you go boosted, you will need a 1:1 boost controlled FPR, not a standard FPR.

Reason being is that once you increase boost or atmospheric pressure, you will need a higher fuel pressure. the 1:1 FPR adds 1psi of fuel to 1psi of boost.

Normal FPR's increase fuel pressure at higher rpm's using vaccum, not boost.

Exactly. I also meant to tune when everything is done to get most potential to make it worth while (still money well spent)

Just when someone says they're planning to do something in 2 years it probably means it will be longer (I hope he proves me wrong).

So I would got the allmotor way as its a work in progress and there lots of potential there.

Thanks again for all your information and I have been getting some other information that leads me to think that a B18b built for all motor would be quite impressive in it's own right.
But one piece of info I got that intrigued me is that with a B18b and just some all motor bolt ons that a B16 trans would be the best and actually give the B18b some nice performance. Anyone have any experience with this set-up?

Every motor has potential wether D,B,F,H,K, it's just how you go about it and how you spend your money, agreed?

I have a B18 in my hatch. I choose it because of the torque mostly and that fact that it is nonvtec. IMO the motor is a good choice because you should be saving thousand(s) over GSR, ITR... and with that money saved you can reinvest into the B18. Same thing people say about building their Dseries.

When you ask about the tranny its all about the gear ratio. With the tranny you will have shorter gears and better accelaration. For me its nice since I dont need to 'drop a gear' the torque and ratio will help carry you through. But the problem you will have to deal with is a higher RPM (gas mileage).

And the short gear vs. long gear ratio debate for turbo and NA cars is a whole other story.

Swapping the tranny is probably the most NOTICEABLE gain you can do.
