B16a2 to Ls Vtec good idea?

I had thoughts of running boost next summer on my b16 hatch, but am pretty strapped for cash. I was wondering what kind of gains i could get buy putting a b18b block under my b16 head and how difficult this would be. I know lots of people are building ls vtec motors these days, and im pretty sure a b18 block would not be hard to find, or expensive. The main reason im interested in doing this is to gain some low end, but im not really sure of the gains id get over my current engine. Let me know what you think.

Honestly.. with labour and tuning you'd probably be looking at around $1500-2000

If you install it yourself your looking at maybe 1000-1200$

oh and gains highly depend on the setup.

Stock pistons? p30? built head? milled? etc.

Stock everything, and yeah i figured labour costs would be fairly high. Sticking to boost would be cheaper, or ill drive it till it dies (probably quite a while, and do a gsr swap) i just want more torque, but i chose to drive a B16 and i guess there are worse engines.

if you want more torque atleast put in a b20vtec.

Personally, I would just boost it.

honestly, you'll be disappointed with a GSR swap, or a stock b16 head on a stock LS block. It won't get you much more power than what you've got now.

For a LSvtec to be worthwhile you NEED to change the pistons to a vtec style piston (b16 or ITR), this will raise the compression up a bunch and allow you to run pretty much whatever camshafts you want (provided your valvetrain is up to par).
