Ok, I've asked around locally in Windsor to see what shops are looking for to put in an A2, and this is what I got back.

"The engine costs $3500.00, includes trans, ECU, complete engine assembly. You will need a Del Sol rear transmission bracket, 94 Del Sol VTEC axles and half-shaft, a little bit of wiring conversion, and lots of labour.
You will probably want to do a clutch while its out, and maybe headers too, but you can leave the JDM ones to save money.
The whole swap will cost at least $5000.00, by the time you get all the parts you need, plus the labour to install it.
The B16A1 does NOT WORK because it has a cable transmission instead of hydraulic, and the engine mounts do not line up, and it is 10HP less then the A2 anyways.
If you don't have the car yet, get an Si for the extras, like the power roof, power mirrors and rear disc brakes, you will need them to stop the car after the engine is in.
Approximate 1/4 mile times with the swap are 15.2-15.5, and with a ZEX 75HP nitrous kit, you should be able to get down to 14.2-14.5 or so, obviously with a good clutch."

Does this sound about right?
So bascilly I need all kinds of new axles and **** to make this engine work, thefore its not a DIRECT swap, correct?

if want to save some cash now.. you can use the b16a1 "motor" and just bolt on a b series tranny... maybe the money you save on the motor you could splurge and get a type r tranny....

i believe you can do that anyways?? putting a hydro tranny on a b16a1??

BUT, I thought the conversation at hand was the difference between the b16a2 and the 2nd Gen b16a.

These two motors ARE NOT EQUAL. They have different internals!

The b16a2 uses a PR3 piston while the 2nd Gen B16a uses a higher dome P30 piston.
thank you, exactly what i was about to post.

hopefully: it is a direct swap. yeah you need new axles but these will fit without any problems. go for it. that shop's message made it sound a little more complicated than it is. there's about 100 peopel on this board with B16a's in 5th gen hatches. it's not a hard swap. Geez.. Altech does about 5 of these every week.

If they are are the same internally is that not the same engine
you said they're "exact same". one has an oil cooler, one doens't. that doesn't make them the same. the OEM oil cooler is worth $500 - i'd say that's a pretty big difference.

The Oil cooler is $500 minus the Parkway Honda 25% discount ....so only $375

You asked around WINDSOR?? What, you asked SOS?? LOL Not a single shop in town knows their ****... SOS may be able to put a motor in, but my retarded neighbour can do that... it's a matter of tuning... just save yourself the headache and get Altech to do the work.

i wish, you can't get the 1st gen B16A cooler here. you'd have to get it from Acura and order the '95 GS-R oil cooler. it's the same thing.
