B16A2 Head, B20B Block Swap Need Help!!!!

Just wanted to know if anyone knows anything about swapping motors, like the B16A2 head on the B20B block. Just recently blew the block on my SiR motor, just a big *** crack on the block. Checked the head and just 2 valves were bent. My question is.....is the swap hard to do yourself or better to take it to a shop??

Well, i'd say, if you're at all mechanically inclined, and you have another vehicle to get around in for a couple of days, grab a case of beer, a few pizzas and a buddy or two and you should be able to get it done in a couple of days.
I'd do some more research into b20vtec/crvtec, before jumping into it. Grab the Golden Eagle conversion kit to eliminate any machine shop down time/hassles with the vtec conversion.

Thanks alot zeeman, but i had another question i was reading about it and this one site said you have to Just like in the LS/VTEC conversion, you must prep the head to accept the dowel pins for the block and also tap the VTEC oil supply hole for a plug since you will be feeding the head from a new location. Drill the two dowel pin holes on the exhaust side to match the block, then tap the oil supply hole for the plug as pictured. Clean the head and use Teflon paste when installing the plug. If you want here is the website where i got the info CRVTEC install.

id advise to get your pistons notched too. i also heard that an oil catch can wouldt hurt espically on b20/vtec.

or buy the Golden Eagle vtec conversion kit and eliminate having to drill anything. It comes with new dowell pins that allow you to not have to drill anything. It also comes with the necessary tap and plug to plug the old vtec oil feed hole in the bottom of the head. It also comes with a headgasket and oil feed line, some of the kits even come with ARP head studs.

when you say "machine" what exactly do you mean? Like resurface?
There is a bunch of machine work that I would do to a b20 bottom end before assembling a b20vtec....such as balancing, line boring, cleaning and decking.

I just checked out the Golden Eagle Conversion Kit... according to the description it looks pretty easy to do by yourself... if i wanted to turn my gsr into a b20 vtec, i assume i could just sell my bottom end and get a b20 and use this kit and really... is that it? seems to easy... i mean other than tuning and stuff like that.

thats it man....thats why i always recommend the GE lsvtec conversion kit when people talk about ls/b20vtecs.

I would get a gsr/itr water pump and timing belt though.
