negative... makes no difference as long as the thermostat works properly.

I'd go with a faulty sensor.. I drove without a thermostat until about two weeks ago and my car warmed up no problem ( '89 si )

My moneys on the thermostat. It could be stuck open or sthe spring inside has gone a little funny causing it not to work properly.

$30 for a thermostat and $15 for coolant = stay warm during winter

Makes sense in my books

take the old one, put it in a pot and boil it.

see if it opens up, atleast then you'll know 100% that it works/doesn't.

you'll see it slowly start to open, it's not instance so don't worry about it springing open and splashing boiling water everywhere, heh.

and when you take it out it'll slowly close as the element cools off.

HI

if you look at the rubber that seals the thermostat openinig not the housing you might notice that the rubber is hard and broken in places this will cause the coolant to leak past the thermostat this will most likly be your problem the car will only warm up a little the problem your having good luck
